Mother’s Day at Intrigue
Behind every stylish woman is a mom who taught her how to walk with confidence—and maybe how to iron a blouse, pick the perfect heel, or sneak into her sister’s closet. 💄👗
This week on the blog, we're sharing beautiful memories from the women of Intrigue and the mothers who shaped their style—and their lives. It’s heartfelt, it’s nostalgic, and it’s full of fashion-forward wisdom.
This Mother’s Day, we’re feeling inspired—not just by the latest spring summer styles, but by the timeless beauty of the women who shaped us. At Intrigue Fine Apparel, we believe fashion isn’t just about what you wear. It’s about where you came from. And in so many of our stories, that legacy starts with Mom.
From classic lipstick rituals to finishing school finesse, our team is made up of women whose fashion sense—and life sense—were passed down with deep love, creativity, and the occasional hand-me-down.
✨ Read the stories. Feel the love. Celebrate Mom
From Annette & Debbie:
“We joke that we opened Intrigue just to dress our mom, since she dressed us growing up! Even when money was tight, she made our clothes, taught us to value presentation, and insisted we look our best, even just to play outside.
Our mom was a trailblazer. At 16, she started her family and never looked back. She made sure we knew proper etiquette, sent us to finishing school, and showed us how to walk through life with grace (and a killer outfit).
We’d raid her closet, try on her wigs, and play dress-up, dreaming of grand entrances and gala nights. She showed us that the way you present yourself is a reflection of who you are inside.
She’s still the best dressed—and still our best friend.”
(And yes, we all won “Best Dressed” in high school. Coincidence? Absolutely not.)
At Intrigue, we believe clothing is an extension of who we are, and often, that identity is stitched with lessons from the amazing women who raised us. This Mother's Day, we honor all the moms, grandmothers, and mother figures who shaped our sense of style, self, and strength.
From Catherine: Finance 21 years
“My mom always had a sense of style. Tiny in stature, but tall in taste—heels, jewelry, daily lipstick, always dressed. She taught me to take pride in what I wear and that it’s okay to be sexy and your age. She was a woman ahead of her time.”
(Yes, Catherine’s mom walked so we could all strut.)
From Christie: Stylist+ Jewelry Designer
“My mother, Judy, was full of humor, love, and adventure. An interior designer by trade, she taught me the magic of mixing textures, fabrics, and colors. Her motto? 'If you have a few classic pieces in your wardrobe, you can make anything work.'”
(Spoiler: that advice still holds up better than a shoulder pad.)
From MaryAnn: Stylist
“My mom taught me that strength and beauty start from the inside—honesty, integrity, kindness, and faith. These are the foundations of how I live and dress.”
(The best accessory? A kind heart.)
From Susan: Stylist + Operations
“My mom cherished family above all else. She adored her parents and brothers, and when she became a mom herself, she swept us into that same warm world. The joy I feel in my own big family is thanks to her example.”
(She wore love like it was couture.)
From Kim: Stylist + Manager
“My mom and I still shop together! Growing up, she would take me to the fabric store and then sew the clothes herself. I was voted 'Best Dressed' in college, and I owe it all to her! Her fashion advice is still gold.”
(Pro tip: Always bring your mom when you’re shopping for a statement piece.)
To the women who taught us how to hem, how to hug, how to walk with confidence, and how to show up for life looking our best—thank you.
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Intrigue Fine Apparel.
Come visit us this week to find something beautiful for the beautiful mom in your life—because love, like great fashion, never goes out of style.
Love Always,
Annette, Debbie & The Girls at Intrigue
